There's this never-ending discussion around FOLLOWERS on social media.

THIS POST IS FOR CREATIVE STUDIOS OWNERS ONLY!

Those with a big following swear that it is the key to success (while selling you their program on how they made that huge following).

And then there are the folks that tell you that followers are the wrong metric to look at. It's not gonna pay your rent, they say.

Now allow me to add my 2 cents to this discussion.

Followers are no customers; that's true.

Yet, you will NOT get any new clients without having followers. And if you do, they come through referrals (which means someone is a fan of you, AKA following).

So here's how it goes.

1. People become aware of you. If they like what they see, they follow.
2. Followers consume your content. That's why they started following you.
3. Over time they start trusting you. They become a fan-boy (or girl).
4. You propose a small transaction, and they hit the buy button.
5. Now they have qualified themselves to be a perfect client for you, and you can start selling them up to more expensive services.

It's simple Marketing 101. But that's how it works.

NOW THE PROBLEM IS:
You don't know how to get people from step 3 to step 4 and beyond to step 5.

Remember — You will not work with your dream clients unless you build a following first.
